1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Vocabulary Master, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Description of Service
Vocabulary Master is an English vocabulary service that uses spaced repetition and illustrated word maps. It is free to use: every word set, every word map and every review costs nothing, and a free account may meet up to ten new words a day. An optional subscription, Vocabulary Master Pro, lifts that daily limit.
3. User Accounts
To access certain features, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Vocabulary Master Pro
- Where it is sold: Pro is sold only inside the Android app, through Google Play. Google is the seller and takes the payment; the same will apply to the App Store when an iPhone app is published. The website sells nothing.
- Price and period: the price, the billing period and the renewal date are shown in the app before you confirm, in your own currency, by Google Play.
- Renewal: a subscription renews at the same price each period until you cancel it. Cancel in Google Play, under Subscriptions, at least 24 hours before it renews.
- Cancelling: Pro stays on until the end of the period you have paid for. After that the account returns to the free tier: every word you have learned stays, every review continues, and new words go back to ten a day.
- Trial: signing in starts a seven-day trial with the daily limit lifted. It asks for no payment details, nothing is charged when it ends, and there is nothing to cancel.
- One account: Pro bought in the app applies to the same account on the website.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Vocabulary Master to:
- Violate any laws or regulations.
- Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
- Transmit spam, viruses, or any other harmful code.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or user accounts.
- Use automated scripts or bots to extract data from our platform without our explicit consent.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality on Vocabulary Master, including text, graphics, logos, icons, and software, are the exclusive property of Vocabulary Master and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Word definitions and example sentences derive from WordNet 3.0, Copyright 2006 by Princeton University, used under the WordNet licence. Princeton University makes no representations about the suitability of this software for any purpose and provides it "as is" without warranty.
7. Medical Disclaimer
The information provided on Vocabulary Master is for educational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vocabulary Master shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the service; or (c) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
9. Modifications to the Service and Terms
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. We may also revise these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The most current version will always be posted on our website. By continuing to access or use the service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
10. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Vocabulary Master operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
